Desert rose

Once while walking in the cold, arid mountains of Leh and Ladakh where nothing grows and hostility towards mankind can be seen in every form, from far I saw a beautiful rose, swaying in the cold air, failing to give in to the cruel forces of mother nature.

I was in awe of the blossoming flower, which defied all odds and refused to die. Suddenly, it dawned on me that I could lead my life like the desert rose, charting my own course, shaping my own destiny, refusing to give in to the vagaries of life.

Life throws many challenges at us and I have gone the “desert rose “way, never giving in, never allowing others to influence my positive decisions and adopting a never say die attitude towards everything that I do.

Inspiration takes shapes in many forms around us but we have to open our “third eye” to see it, grab it and use it to our advantage. We don’t have to listen to lectures from motivational leaders or join expensive discourses to be successful. All we need it to do is to simplify our lives because in simplicity lies the greatest of virtues and secrets to a successful and happy life. The simplest of things in life can become the biggest motivational factors of our destiny.
