Home made crunchy taco shells are excellent! Use home made tortillas, or corn tortillas from the store.

Ingredients
- 3/4 c yellow cornmeal
- 1 1/4 c all purpose flour,Sifted
- 1 T salt
- 2 T shortening
Recipe Steps:
- In a small mixing bowl mix together cornmeal, flour and salt. Stir in shortening and boiling water, mix wwell. Shape to form 12 balls. Flatten each ball between 2 sheets waxed paper to make a 5 inch circle. Bake on a hot ungreased griddle until cooked. Place each one in hot oil about 1 inch deep and fold over with tongs. fry until crisp.
